Cyndi Piña is an educational consultant, CEO and Founder of As You Read and Write, LLC. She is a champion of education for all students and strives to bring the latest application of research in her field to her training and staff development.
As a teacher, mentor, writer, and poet, Cyndi Piña builds capacity in educators and provides opportunities for them to see the power of language and how to restore a sense of agency in their students. She fundamentally believes that a child’s identity is formed in part through their day-to-day experiences in the world and in their school environment.
She holds a B.A. in English, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing. She spent 16 years as a high school English teacher, 7 of which she served as department chair. In addition to her principal and teacher certifications, she also holds a K-12 Dimond Writing Certification through Abydos Learning International, LLC.
Cyndi is devoted to providing engaging and authentic learning opportunities for all students and in supporting fellow educators to bring these experiences to life in their classrooms.

Jennifer believes that educators, like students, are lifelong learners. She strives to build trust with her clients using a non-judgmental “safe space” approach that allows for collaborative conversations. She feels that her role is to support teachers by leaning into past and present research-based strategies that improve craft, enhance classroom management, maximize instruction time, and increase student engagement.
